Good News

One of the great musicals, June Allyson and Peter Lawford could read out of the phone book and this movie would probably still work. Together the pair is enchanting, but the songs and the breezy flow of the plot make this film memorable.

Connie (June Allyson) is working her way through college and Tommy (Peter Lawford) is the hero of the school's football team. Each find themselves unlucky in love and unsure about each other.

Highlights of this film are "Pass That Peace Pipe" and "The Varsity Drag" along with so many other musical moments like "Lucky In Love" and "The French Lesson."

Fast facts

Peter Lawford was fluent in French, while June didn't know a word of it, so to record "The French Lesson" Peter coached June in French pronunciations.
