The song that made Rosemary Clooney famous is Come On A My House, and you can see why, she certainly has a handle on the lyrics.
Another great early hit by Rosemary is Botch A Me, another upbeat song that is lots of fun!
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard is Hey There and Rosie certainly delievers. She said in concert when I saw her, that her Grandson learned to play half of the song and once announced that Rosie would sing it at a restaurant with him accompanying her and left his famous Grandma when he no longer knew how to play the rest of the song.
The next song is Mambo Italiano another early classic, Rosie frequently topped the charts and I believe this song was one of her hits.
From My Fair Lady, I Could Have Danced All Night is one of my favorite show tunes and Rosemary had in it a lovely version of her own.
From Pinocchio, When You Wish Upon A Star is again another great song that I have fallen in love with and Rosemary sings it softly and really has a feel for the words.
Since White Christmas is one of my favorite movies, most likely due to the great performers in Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Vera Ellen, and of course Rosemary Clooney, all of the following songs are from Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Sisters is a duet with sister in the film Vera Ellen (actually Performed by Trudy Stevens). Then there's Snow and all four sing it together. Alone, Rosie sings Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me, which is a fabulous torch song. Gee, I Wish I Was Back in the Army is another bouncy song the foursome sings together and it is followed by the best Christmas song ever written, even for one who has never had a White Christmas.
Mr. And Mrs. is a duet Rosemary sang with husband at the time Jose Ferrer in Deep In My Heart.
I think Rosemary had a lot of pull in what she was going to record during her ongoing career and I'm sure she really wanted to take a crack at this song and another one of my favorites, Young At Heart.
