The first song, Because My Baby Says It's So is my favorite, it's upbeat and you can feel the fun Powell has in singing it in The Singing Marine. Also from The Singing Marine, I've Gotta Sing A Torch Song is beautiful, I think many of his fans may have forgotten his singing career when he went into film noir, because I think he could be more popular today if he hadn't done those classic films. And again from The Singing Marine, is You Can't Run Away From Love Tonight. Naturally, this film ended with The Song of the Marines This movie had some of the most beautiful songs...
I Only Have Eyes For You is from Dames, the film that introduced this song to the public.
From Hollywood Hotel are I'm Like A Fish Out Of Water, and Let That Be A Lesson To You.
I'll String Along With You, is from a film Dick Powell did with Ginger Rogers and ranks among my favorites.
You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby, shows how softly and tendly Powell could sing a song, this song is a classic and does it justice.
Dick Powell was in a series of movies called Gold Diggers, We're in the Money is the theme song of the series. Also from the series came songs like I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm, Lullaby of Broadway, and The Shadow Waltz.
