Lady Be Good (1936)
A man with the music, finds a girl with the lyrics but they fail to keep harmony for long.
Marilyn Marsh (Eleanor Powell) is the best friend of lyricist Dixie Donegan (Ann Sothern) who tries to put her friend's marriage back in order. Divorce after divorce, the plot is told from the perspective of the final trial where the judge must decide for the final time if the two should be divorced for good.
Powell gets to play a character in this film that's really unlike any of her other roles--probably one of her richer parts. The highlight is her dance with "buttons."
