For Me and My Gal (1942)

A film dedicated to and about vaudeville and how those who rose to the top got to the pinnacle of every vaudevillian's dream--The Palace Theatre, New York.

Jo Hayden (Judy Garland) starts out in an act with Jimmy Metcalfe (George Murphy) that isn't doing so well on vaudeville's lowest rung. Jo: What do you do when you love someone and they don't even know you're alive?
Jimmy: I don't know. Just keep on loving them, I guess.
