In the Good Old Summertime (1949)

A man falls in love with a woman who he corresponds on "intellectual subjects" with from an advertisement at the Post Office.

Nameless penpals corresponding on philosophy, psychology, and literature are unable to avoid talking about love. The man (Van Johnson) is the head clerk at a music store and the woman (Judy Garland) becomes his employee. Constantly arguing at the workplace, the two fall in love with the anonymous person of their letters.
