I started to like Shirley Jones when she was in The Music Man i thought she had a beautiful singing voice and that she was really pretty and after that i haven't stop liking her since.

Hi my name is Kacie Phillips and I absolutly LOVE Shirley Jones she is my total insparation I started being interested in her 2 years ago when we did the play "The Music Man" at our school(I got the lead of marion the Librarian) I was so happy about the part I just HAD to see the movie so I did. Right when a beautiful young blonde came on and sang "Goodnight My Someone" I was blown away I couldn't posibly EVER think someone could ever sing EXACTLY like an angel to me she is an angel, well anyway after that night I saw the move Exactly 30 times in one month and decided to find out if she did any other musicals and luckily she did "Oklahoma" (my all time favorite!!) and another "Carousel" (both with Gordan MacRae.) Something always amazed me about Ms. Jones you always hear realy bad things about other proformers, but you only hear good things about Shirley. This summer I was in New York to see her on broadway playing "Dorthy Brock" in "42nd Street", but to bad for me my family had a change of plans!!! I was sooooooo upset. Shirley is my heroin!!!

Shirley Jones is such an inspiration, I first started really liking her when we had auditions for "The Music Man" in 7th grade, and I wanted to be Marian more than anything. I watched the movie and thought her and her voice were beautiful. i watched the special features and she said that she wanted to be Marian more than anything too. We also have the same initials! I didn't get the part, but i realized that you can' start at the top. Shirley Jones first has a smaller part in South pacific, before Oklahoma. I know that you have to work hard. She is such an inspiration. Her songs touch my heart and I love listening to her. Her voice is so captivating, and her emotions are so real. i hope that one day I'll be lucky enough to meet her! Until then, I'll keep trying and putting heart into everything I do.
