Jane Powell's sang the Italian Street Song in Holiday In Mexico, she had actually pre-recorded the song once before she made the movie.
Shortly after Holiday In Mexico, Jane appeared in A Date With Judy with Elizabeth Taylor and she sang It's A Most Unusual Day as herself and was dubbed in for Taylor, who was too busy to do her own recordings. You may also recognize the voice of Carmen Miranda!
This song is from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and is called Wonderful, Wonderful, Day. When You're In Love is also a beautiful song Jane sells in this film.
Clearly, Over the Rainbow is Judy Garland's song, but I love Jane Powell's version too. I would say the sincerity in Jane's voice is extremely vivid. This song was also recorded pre-MGM. Another pre-MGM song from this cut is The Donkey Serenade.
Here's another pre-MGM song, Through The Years which is a beautiful song on it's own
Jane Powell did a movie called Royal Wedding with Fred Astaire and Peter Lawford, Lawford being her love interest and Astaire her dancing partner and brother. Too Late Now is a song she sings to Lawford. Another upbeat song from this film is How Could I Believe You When I Said You Loved Me.
Jane did a whole bunch of recordings after her film career had faded. One of these was True Love. A few others were Lets Face The Music and Dance and Horray For Love.
