All-star comedy/musical finds ocean liner owner W.C. Fields pitting his ship against another vessel in a high-speed race. While on the journey, a host of Paramount stars are spotlighted, including Martha Raye, Dorothy Lamour, Kirsten Flagstad, and Bob Hope (his first feature), who sings his signature tune, the Oscar-winning "Thanks for the Memory." Then, Gracie Allen inherits a small-town school and proceeds to turn it into a hangout for her vaudeville friends.
