ReelCast is booming along with every episode. Today marks beginning of our first contest, which you can find more information about here. Good luck if you enter! :)
I've also just deleted over 400 entries in the guestbook with profane links and such that were clearly all posted by the same person. If said person bothers to read the updates page--yes, you struck your target now be gone with you.

Happy special election day four days early if you're in California. ::Sigh:: Way to see tax dollars go down the drain for a state who is so far in debt.
Political aspersions aside, I just realized that I really didn't explain a podcast in lamens terms. I'm really sorry about that, I get into the habit of well, being a little vague and forget to step out of my own language. That being said--here's a better definition of what a podcast is:
Basically, I'm going to be uploading an MP3 music file that's linked to my site every week on this page (http://www.reeljewels.com/reelcast) and it's like a radio show--but it's cooler than a radio show, because it's people talking about classic movies. As we all know... classic movies make for spiffiness.
You can also download them through an RSS feeder like iPodder or iTunes. Being a fan of Apple, I recommend iTunes. You can download iTunes here if you don't have it. It's free and it even burns CD's for free as well. It's grand.
Part of what I'm trying to do is come up with segments and volunteers who to talk with me on the broadcast (even without me, actually), and that sort of thing. It's called a podcast, because it was started by people who wanted to carry around radio programs on their iPods to listen to whenever they wanted to. You don't have to have an iPod to do this though (I don't have one), I just use my trusty laptop.

Big, big update today. I started ReelCast, which is a podcast that will update listeners on classic film news and will include interviews with fans, possibly film stars (or behind the scenes people--we'll see what I can do), and trivia. Listen to ReelCast for more information.
How?
Here's how:
People with iTunes (it's not in the directory yet, here's hoping) can go to "advanced" at the top and then "subscribe to podcast" and you put in this link: http://www.reeljewels.com/reelcast.xml. If you don't have iTunes, you can go to it directly (or you already know what to do if you have another program like ipodder I'm assuming. Anyway, here's the direct link: http://www.streamload.com/paularidgeway/ReelCast.mp3.
Enjoy--and if you want to be involved in this please contact me at ginnysayre@gmail.com.

I've been more than horrible at updating and catching up on emails from the site lately. I do hope to remedy that, I really do... but I've decided to come out of my temporary hiding for a special appeal for my fellow Americans.
It looks like Hurricane Katrina is stronger than any of us could have imagined--claiming more lives and property than possibly any natural disaster in United States History. The American Red Cross needs funds to help those that we can still save and support with basic needs like water, food, and other important living items. They need your help. Please click on the following link to donate to the Red Cross. As their commercials state--every bit helps, no matter how small.

There will be more updates to come, but a small one for now... I started a new guestbook. It's nice to go back and see comments on the site. It even has a reply tool for me to use to get back to you right under your signature. It's lovely. If I'm smart enough, I may make more modifications to the code and add a category for favorite reeljewels. Not sure on that one yet...

It's official. There has been an edition to the site as you may have noticed if you looked in the actresses menu any time today. The edition is Rita Hayworth. So, Rita is added to the team to make 20 Reeljewels in total.
More goodies to come. I did a bit of scaning yesterday. Enjoy!

The greeting card gallery has been fixed. Well, sort of... the stamp seems to go only to the default stamp. I'm confused about that, but at sometime I'll figure out where I went wrong.
My goal is to add something new today and catch up on some of the old. There will be some new fan submissions for Rosemary Clooney to be sure (sorry, gals for being so slow).

Here is a list of all the countries recorded as visiting Reeljewels.com since I switched servers in mid April 2004. I find it quite amazing -- 36 total! There may be more, because some are listed as organizations or US Military (which I didn't list and could be anywhere).

Thank all of you for visiting. I'm flattered for the "Reeljewels" for being known world-wide as they appear to be. Although, I think some of the visitors can be tracked down to my jump rope site, too, as the statistics are shared.
As you can probably see, I ... *sniff* have been playing with the greeting cards again. When I get my wits about me, I shall fix what damage has been done. I've very anal about it. It can't be healthy. Maybe in May and during the summer you will see a lot more pop up here (possibly earlier due to procrastination).
Take care!

The eCards have been overhauled. My friend Jael, known to me as Countess, added more cards to a special holidays/other category that has also been added. I still need to add more images per star and link the categories to each site correctly, but here is an example of the new look:

Part of the goodness of the upgrade is I was able to get a header. I'd been trying to figure out how to do that.
Take care!

I've got Bob's filmography up now. I also added stores for my duo. The stores will be updated even more at some time. I just spent two hours on the things I've already done. It's too monotanous!

I really have updated, but I haven't updated the updates page. Most of the updates have been to the Bing Crosby and Bob Hope sites, however. Earlier I added a biography for Bob, galleries, eCards... and that's about it. Today I added fan pages, links, wallpaper, and Bing's biography. I'm going to Hollywood on Saturday, so I'll probably get some better pictures to make In Hollywood pages. I still have stores, songs, and filmographies to go. I might do songs after I upload this page. I'll make another update if I don't get sidetracked from the process.
I also need to catch up on fan tributes. I will eventually. I promise! Like everyone else, I fall into spurts when I have time to update and when I feel like updating. It's terrible. There are times when I'm so disciplined. ;)
I hope everyone is having a lovely year. Here is an archive of past years:
Sweet! I finished the songs pages. Here's Bing and Bob's song pages.
